what is your favorite horror movie?

mine is Bram Stokers Dracula
Post by maxwell (90 posts) See mini bio Level 6
though i really, really love Bram Stoker's Dracula (and how over the top it is), i've never really felt like it was very scary or unsettling, like a good horror film should be.

thus, i'm torn between 3 films:

The Exorcist

The Shining

Dawn of the Dead

Hands down for me the best horror movie of all time is the ORIGINAL 1978 (i think) TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE!

it is real horror

The Exorcist was awesome. I was watching some reactions of people walking out of the theater filmed from way back, and the amount of terror that movie brought upon people was astounding back then. Actually, it still is.

Well that`s just my top 7 but yeah.
Some Americanized j horror movies didn't suck that much, they are just not as scary.
And i find that some Japanese horrors do suck just cant name them now cuz i blocked them from my memory XD

i like to think of myself as a horror/suspense film aficionado but after seeing just the first few scenes of guinea pig: flower of flesh and blood, i had to turn it off. almost made me sick.

which films in the series have you seen?

gotta disagree. the ring was really well done (especially in the spooky, unsettling atmosphere dept.) for its time and was a sensation in japan. what "blows" about it?
Post by Jewel (1,654 posts) See mini bio Level 10
I just found it really over done, sorry i have a habit of just going blah at movies that dont do anything for me!.. i find some of the Japanese horror movies a little over the top.. Ring was one of them for me!
