Remember back in early December when on Anime Vice we brought word to you of Evangelion 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance was coming to U.S. theaters before the release of the DVDs? Every since then I have been painstakingly writing emails and making phone calls to whoever would answer about when we would have not just dates on the screenings. All just so I can bring you the community the story. In truth,.....I made all that up. I just googled "FUNimation Evangelion 2.0 trailer" last week and something real finally showed up.
It was quite odd that FUNimation in association with Eleven Arts, who are distributing the film to theaters, would take so long to release a trailer. More so considering that the screenings begin on January 19 in Austin, TX. Whatever the reason, we finally have one. Similar to the Japanese trailer we showed you last time, this one is mainly only set to some opera music. To get any dialog scenes I guess we will just have to see this in theaters or when the DVD is release on March 29th. Don't let that discourage you. What we see here is incredible. Finally, we get more of a look at the latest to the Evangelion cast of characters. The bespectacled pilot of Unit-05, Mari Illustrious.
It's important to remind everyone that this is only part two of the four part for the retelling of this classic anime staple. There are two more parts to come, and the outcome is seriously up in the air. Where Evangelion 1.0 was rehashing the basics of the original anime. Anything could happen after this point.
Watch the video....
Just FYI, though the trailer says coming Winter 2011. It actually means the winter that is currently going on. If you can't see this trailer in your area due to regional coding. You might be able to see it off the official Evangelion 2.0 website: HERE
Preorders for the DVD/Blu-ray are currently available on Amazon.com.
Are you going to try and see this in theaters or wait for DVD?

Proof that everything set to opera music becomes dramatic.
