Washimiya Tries for Lucky Star-Inspired Drama

You may remember the town of Washimiya, whose Washinomiya shrine featured as the inspiration for the Hiiragi family shrine in the hit anime Lucky Star. The city began using the growing otaku tourism as a revenue-builder since the show's airing, and it looks like the latest move they're considering is an original TV drama tentatively titled Washimiya * Monogatari.

Apparently the idea came from Jdrama director Keiichi Katagawa, who was working on another drama set in the same town. Writers are being encouraged to submit their ideas for the drama, which must include some relation to the town, plus moe, and be “trivial but precious.”

Sounds like a toughie to me...but it could be interesting. I wonder if anything will come of this?
