Yeah, I guess my blogging is almost on an annual basis. Sorry about that; I'm thinking once I'm done with my studies and only have a job to worry about (and not both) I'll have more time for this. Anyhoo...

So, while I've watched a fair deal in the past year a few of them really stood out to me: Ano Hana (if you want the full title, look it up) and Bunny Drop. You could say they're both Slice o' Life series, though the former has a touch of the supernatural in it, but the reason I'm blogging about them now is that they're both really heart-warming. They're both about bonds, either of friendship or family, and if you want to have your feelings for those bonds rekindled just before the holiday month, they're both great ways of doing so - although maybe Bunny Drop is better; the weather in Ano Hana is too summery for this time of year, but really, I'm touching on details here... Watch them both!

I really like it when a seemingly casual and down-to-earth anime can get so profoundly deep and touching, reminding us that despite the mecha, the explosions, the thousand katana fighting style, and the spider monsters, we're still human, and the reason we can grow so fond of something - like anime or manga - is because of those feelings. I don't mean to get all mushy on you all now, and it's not the kind of feelings I'm babbling about; I'm talking about the ones that drive us onward, that strengthen our determination or our will to push through a rough day at work: Namely that we have someone or something to come home to, that we cherish because of the bonds we form.

Happy holidays, y'all.

Usagi/Bunny Drop is definitely one of my favorites of the year; to the point where I plan on importing it. I love these type of grounded dramas.

I have seen a single current season anime outside of Bleach, Naruto, and a few working episodes, but 2011 has been a great year for anime for me. Steins;Gate, Hanasaku Iroha, Usagi Drop, Kamisama Dolls, Nekogami, Bleach (super wow @ Bleach for delivering the awesome during the Kageroza Inaba arc), Wandering Son, others were all shades of awesome.
