Welcome to this week's Quick Picks! We got just 2 titles this week, Blue Submarine No. 6 is a nostalgic one for me. I remember watching in middle school during the Toonami era. It's a good Sci-Fi series for new fans who love to see themes of war and environment. For Medaka Box, I would say would be the best one to give his 2 cents on it. I haven't watched it yet.

I hope you guys enjoy this week's releases.

Previous Quick Picks

In the future, the rising temperature of the Earth has melted the polar ice caps. As a result, the planet's last remaining land masses are in danger of sinking into the ocean. As if humanity didn't have enough problems, an army of ocean-dwelling creatures led by the scientist Zorndyke have seemingly declared war on mankind! Humanity's last hopes rest with the state-of-the-art vessel, Blue Sub 6 and her crew! Can Tetsu and Mayumi stop Zorndyke's mutant army and save what remains of humanity? Contains OVA episodes 1-4.

Medaka Box Abnormal - Complete Collection (Blu-Ray)

What started as a simple assistance program has escalated insanely out of control. Medaka Kurokami now finds herself exposed as something far more than human, but that's only the beginning of a new series of shocking revelations that lead towards a dark secret plan that not even the unbelievable power of her War God Mode may be able to withstand. Still, Medaka's proving to be good at thinking outside of the box, and if she needs the full backing of every hidden resource of the Student Council to meet the challenge, then that's what she's going to get. Even the abnormal ones!

Wait, so I'm the Medaka Box expert? Well, I did finish the manga for some arcane reason, couldn't bring myself to watch the anime past the first episode of the first season, but the "Abnormal" season is when the "real" "plot" of the series began, for better or worse. Whether it was an abrupt shift to avoid what was almost certain cancellation from Shonen Jump in light of the previous manga chapters or if NisioisiN planned the genre shift all along is up for debate.

The best character, Kumagawa, doesn't appear until the end though. So just Google "Good Loser Kumagawa" for that. But if you like shounen battles featuring Abnormal stunts and superpowers pulled out of metaphorical asses, you could do worse than Medaka Box Abnormal.
