Welcome to the first week of April's DVD and Blu-Ray releases! I don't know any of this series this week except Dragon Ball Z. From first impressions, Ebiten and Happiness! fits the slice of life trope with cute girls and a bit of fan service at the side. The only series that caught my eye is Third: The Girl with the Blue Eye. I usually look for either shows with some action or good comedy.

I know someone who watches Ebiten. What's your two cents on Ebiten? And I know someone who had watched Princess Nine due to a review recently written. What's your take on Princess Nine? Would you recommend it?

I would love to hear your recommendations on these series. All comments are welcome. Thank you.

2. Ebiten - Complete Collection (Sub. Blu-Ray and DVD)

Take one group of rabid fan girls with tenuous grips on reality, toss out all rules of proper social behavior, mix them together in a basement with more twisted anime parodies and allusions than you can shake a schtick at, and what do you get? Well, besides a recipe for disaster, if borderline delusional Kyoko Todayama is in what passes for charge, you get the Asstronomy Club, where mayhem rules and the wall between the real world and total fantasy shatters at least once every five minutes!

And as if things weren't wild enough, let's throw in a "boys love" manga fanatic who always seems to end up in her underwear, a maid on a secret mission, a ruthless arch enemy whose goal is to have the club disbanded, and a cat as the faculty adviser! And then there's Itsuki, who inexplicably still thinks this is a serious astronomy club. To be fair, some of the members do seem to be robots/aliens and/or from outer space. One thing's for certain though: the Student Council will most definitely not approve of what happens!

Contains episodes 1-10 plus the OVA. Special Features: Heart Throb Hot Springs, Japanese Commercials and Promos, Music Videos, Clean Opening Animation, Clean Closing Animation.

Happiness! - Complete Collection (Sub. DVD)

Yuma and Haruhi are both students at Mizuhosaka Academy, but since the classes for magic users and non-magic users are kept completely separate, the odds of their ever getting to know each other are impossibly small. But then a gas explosion on Valentine's Day renders the Magic section unusable, leaving the school with no choice except to make everything co-ed.

As a result, mage-in-training Haruhi and her best friend Anri find themselves transferred into a normal class with Yuma and his best friends Hachisuke and Jun. Although how "normal" they are is debatable given that Hachi might be the world's biggest letch and Jun prefers to wear the girl's school uniform rather than the one for the guys! And there's something about Yuma as well, something that Haruhi notices almost immediately. But is Yuma aware of it yet? Whatever the answer, the most magical year of classes for both of them is about to begin, and the most important lessons learned won't be on conjuring or geometry.

Contains episodes 1-13. Special Features: Clean Opening Animation, Clean Closing Animation. Spoken Languages: Japanese, English subtitles.

Princess Nine - Complete Collection (DVD)

In the male-dominated sport of baseball, one group of high school girls is about to turn the world upside down! Ryo Hayakawa, daughter of a legendary pitcher, has been chosen to lead the "Princesses," Japan's first-ever girl's baseball team. They don't want to play in a separate league - they're taking on the boys at their own game. And their goal? None other than Koshien, the national high school baseball championship!

But for all the challenges they face on the field, the hardest battles are the ones fought behind the scenes. They'll have to overcome prejudice, endure weeks of hard training, and work their way through romantic rivalries if they ever want a chance to make it to the top!

Contains episodes 1-26.
