By now I'm sure everyone has been made aware of Chile's terrible earthquake. The fallout has been so large that abnormal tides reaching as far as the coast of California. Though last night i was wondering what sort of effect it was having on Japan...

Apparently it messed up their TV. Forget the actual threat of a Tsunami, fans were up in arms with the obstructing weather warnings. Of course, the Tsunami happened to coincide with the very special episode of FMA: Brotherhood where Winry strips in front of Edward. Wait, what? I don't remember that episode, but I'm sure it needed the tag "Very special episode," since I'm sure we would have all learned an important lesson of some sort. AND IT WAS RUINED! 
 
Sankaku reports that the weather warnings were varied by locations, but hey, I like to pretend this episode was really just an action packed weather commentary.

I really need to catch up on the FMA manga I followed it for a bit and than dropped off since YTV started airing the anime. (manga released in 2005 and anime broadcasted on YTV in 2006) People keep telling me how great it is.

The part that makes this such bs is that they took out the overlay during the commercials. If it was that important they should have had it on at all times, or just for a few sec every 10-15 min. But really, who watches TV these days? Maybe I'm in the minority here, but i get all my shows on my computer. Anime or other wise.

Well, that was my first laugh of the day.
Those are REALLY obtrusive weather warnings!  I'd be annoyed, too.  Safety is very important, of course....  But around here it's a tiny image in the corner of the screen, and a scrolling ticker on the bottom.

Wait, was there an actual earthquake in Chile? I never watch TV (except for that part today when I happened to watch some TV) so I don't watch the news, I also don't listen to the radio or read any newspapers, I'm completely cut off from the goings on most of the time.

In the manga, Winry snuck back to her house from the military as the Fuhrer was using her as a hostage to keep the Elrics from leaving the military. Upon arriving, Winry decides to change her clothes where to her surprise, Ed, hiding away from the military as well, was in her bedroom  getting a good peek at some underboob from Winry. From there, all hell and hilarity breaks loose.

Well, when you are an island nation. Tsunamis are something to be very wary of. They are even more important then breasts.

Actually my town was hit by a tsunami from the chilie earthquake. Lol it was a fail tsunami. I think it was 2 feet high.... that's the advantage to living on a rock, Tsumanis are fail.

Given the nature of his power, it just makes me more adorably depressed/pissed off.

The simulcast they do with FUNimation is a separate venture, so you can assume its unaffected. Though, the reality is that that message wasn't uniform. So some viewers were unaffected at all.
