Man, I got a pile of press releases today, not to mention a few other tidbits. Here we go:

Manga:

  • ANN notes that the release dates for new volumes of Yotsuba&! have been added to Yen Press' official site: volumes 6, 7, and 8 in September, December, and April 2010, respectively.
  • Zepy has word that Negima has seen a readership shift-- from older males to younger females. Iiiiinteresting!
  • Aurora Publishing has announced that its upcoming release of Chika Shiomi's Queen of Ragtonia will be offered as a Borders exclusive starting today-- you can't buy it elsewhere for another four months.

Music:

  • This is kind of interesting: Tokyograph reports on a new Jpop band which is being selected entirely by votes on a website. Sort of like Making the Band and American Idol combined. And in Japan.

Misc:

  • Crunchyroll announced a new partnership with Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation to stream 30 Korean dramas. We don't have a full list of them, but the first one is supposed to be starting already. The company also announced that it would be releasing the comedy show Real Life, which features comedians doing goofy takes on real life scenarios common in life in Japan.

And as long as we're having a Crunchyfest, the site also notes that it'll have a lot more simulcasts for spring than for winter, and they also have a brand new “big” one starting on March 21. (I expect it's either something that's already been running in Japan, or else it's Tenchi Muyo spinoff Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari, which is starting on March 20.)

Whew!

I'm so behind in Negima now that I don't hang out with my Negima-buying friend as much.
