I would like them to be strictly OVA or Anime Films(preferably anime films).

I know Madhouse does a lot of incredible animation, from the new movie Redline to their collaboration with Marvel in Hulk VS., and Marvel Anime like Iron Man, but it'd like to hear some other options.

Gainax and their Evangelion movies is something else that I know about(can't wait for the third movie - You can (Not) Redo =D).

Not big into Studio Ghibli. As good as their animation might be, the anime itself just doesn't seem to grab me.

BONES, Madhouse, Gainax, etc. Like the most well-known animation studios.

I'd like some new suggestions. Thanks guys.

Are you only looking for contemporary titles, or OVAs with amazing animation relevant to their time.

@Turambar: Well, I would prefer for them to be modern anime titles, but in truth if you can bring it back for me I wouldn't mind that. I enjoy anime from all time-eras.

Akira is always brought up. I haven't seen it in forever and didn't like it that much, but I think there's some good animation in it. Spriggan has some nice animation in it during combat. The Haruhi movie has some nice work as well. None of it is action oriented but it's very visually impressive at times. Bleach movie 4 has some pretty awesome animation on a regular basis as well.

I wish I could help more, but I watch very few anime films so I'm not very familiar with them.

Blue Submarine No. 6 was a OVA series from 1998 to 2000 that, relative to its time, has amazing animation. There's a good mix of cel and CG that still looks impressive today, I think. It also has my favorite original soundtrack/score. Another that holds up is Macross Zero. It's a prequel OVA set to the Super Dimensional Fortress Macross series (Americanized as Robotech) and it has some of the absolute best air-to-air combat scenes ever.

AKIRA, for its time, has stunning animation. Although now it may seem a bit dated.

I'd suggest Sword Of The Stranger which is phenomenal, as well as Black Rock Shooter, Pale Cocoon, FLCL, and Voices of a Distant Star.
