Your Mod Squad
Despite having the moderator list, we have outlined who is what type of mod. Some mods have both wiki and forum powers while others only have one power. If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of the mods if it corresponds to their powers. We are happy to help you to the best of our abilities and we want to work with you to make the best community possible. The best way to reach a mod is through PMing (Private Messaging) them. If you have a big issue, make a large group PM for the mods to read.
WIKI & FORUM: These mods have powers for BOTH the wiki and forums.
WIKI MODS: These guys only have wiki powers

Updates to this Post
This is an ongoing project with a couple mods right now and while we busily do things both on this site and IRL, we are trying to make the wiki guide up as soon as possible. It has been a while since we worked on it but it'll get done eventually. If you're curious of the progress, the sections we have left to write are: locations, people, concepts, anime series, objects, movies, and companies.
The sections we have so far: Introduction; The Dos and Don'ts General list; the guidelines/rules of images in wiki galleries and pages; the plagiarism section; and wiki page guidelines for franchises, manga series, and characters.
In each wiki page guideline section, there is two minisections labeled "About" and "Suggestions to Include." There are also links to good examples of each section from the site.
This seems like a pretty solid plan for the guide. I hope to get this up and about soon. If there are any suggestions for the guide, feel free to post on here or PM me.
Thank you for visiting this thread and I hope you enjoy your stay here at the Vice. :) If you'd like to introduce yourself to fellow users, feel free to post in our introductory thread.
Forums
The forum guide and FAQ is located here.Acer has briefly explained how to deal with spoilers in topics.
A qucik run down of the forum rules are below
- No porn/hentai on the forums.
- No racism or other comments that incite hate between users.
- No explicit discussions about sex, illegal drugs or other illegal activities.
- No trolling or flaming.
- No advertisement.
- No abusing the rating system, this system is used to help the mods pick through the bad posts.
- Do not rate someone down just because you disagree with them, keep this feature strictly for those who post spam, or are doing anything of the prohibited activities above.
- No linking to illegal scanlation that involve sites that have translated scans of licensed manga and fansubbed anime.
- No linking to pornography unless it has to do with the anime at hand, linking to a pornographic website and not properly labeling it as so is means for immediate, permanent, forum ban.
Wiki
Currently, we are working on the wiki guide for this site so please bear with us. If you want a general outline, you can read the general site FAQ until the Wiki specific guide is up. For now, here is some additional information that you should read.Little_Sparrow has kindly outlined the general Do's and Don'ts of wiki editing which is pasted here:
DO'S:
- Do spend ages on a sub and then go back to check the spelling errors. :D Trust me, they sneak in.
- Do sSb your own work and make sure it makes sense.
- Do write it in MS word so you can pick up on mistake(s) and then copy and paste it into the wiki page you are working on.
- Do add pictures. We are sad pandas when there are no pictures in wiki entries.
- Do ask for help if you need it. We wiki mods don't bite. =]
- Do give the mods time to clear the queue. We are just as busy as anyone else and we're trying to build the best wiki possible.
- Don't copy and paste from another site (only do this if it is your own work and HAS BEEN CLEARED BY STAFF). And even if you do copy it over... don't be so lazy as to leave the links in from that site. We're even more likely to catch you.
- Don't make a page without checking it. If you're like me and you have dyslexia, than it can be hard. So I ask other people to check my stuff.
- Don't Plagiarize work (yes it gets bulleted twice). The site can actually get in trouble for it. Don't think that information is just for the taking just because it is on the net. almost all work on the net is copyrighted to some degree. Just don't do it.
- Don't annoy a mod when arguing about a denied wiki submission. Let them state the reason and move on and re do the page. Mods do what they do for free so do not attack them. We're trying to help you.
- Don't resub something that has been denied. We did it for a reason... don't keep doing it!

Updates to this Post
- February 1st, 2010 - Moderator list updated
- May 8th, 2009 - The compilation thread has been made.
