From going to Japanese to English name translations are not as clear cut as google translate like translations make them out to be.
Such names have different meaning based on the characters (whether Kanji,  Hiragana or Katakana) and I believe based on phonetics (i.e how the name sounds when pronounced).

Ichigo's name for example can mean different things.

exactly

Ichigo could mean First Protector, or the Protecting First
or it could mean Strawberry depending on the way it's read and/or written
and apparently google couldn't translate "one"

It's lampshaded in Bleach, Ichigo itself explains the menaing of his name, I think there is even a Flashback with his father or something like that...

@hitsusatsu11:
 Is very much correct about  Kanji,  Hiragana or Katakana

Ichigo in bleach is reference to Strawberry. I think they have even made some Jokes about this in the Anime and Manga.
I at least remember a title saying Strawberry or berry inside it a few times.
