Maybe this is bloodthirsty to say, but I think this show’s been playing it too soft on these characters. Oh sure, we’ve just seen Bradley shred through almost all the Briggs soldiers but, c’mon, you know he should’ve wasted Buccaneer, too. It’s the same thing that happened with Heinkel. The bad guys rough him up real bad, stab him a few times in sensitive spots and, in this case, even rip one of his limbs off… and the guy’s still going. Considering just how big the cast has gotten (when’s the last time we saw Winry, huh?) you’d figure the idea would be for at least some of them to fill a body count.
Glad to see Greedling show his smartass once again. I was wondering when that other shoe was going to drop. I really can’t call who’s going to win this fight but, judging by the intro, I suspect it’s going to have to be a team effort to take Wrath down. What exactly does his Ultimate Eye do, though? Does it speed up his perception or some-such?
Getting back to why I’m glad Greed is back… his involvement in this reminds me a bit of the role the Furies served in Greek mythology. Basically, they were a third party, neither good nor evil, who intervened in the affairs of gods and mortal to get revenge - - even, sometimes, when the wronged didn’t care anymore. They’d just keep showing up, even after a revenge cycle had run its course and they were basically everybody’s enemies. Does that seem maybe a little similar to this guy?
The prologue scene with Hohenheim seems to finally suggest that he’s responsible for Alkahestry and his confrontation with Father introduces some downright intriguing sci-fantasy concepts. The whole notion that Hohenheim's triumphing over Father in some regard because he's actually taken the time over all these years to talk to every soul inside him individually... that's really brilliant. Maybe it's the purest solution to the oft-suggested notion of group identity vis a vis the Philisopher's Stones.
And hey, doesn't Father’s true form look a lot like the deity Ed talked to past the Door of Truth?!?!
