Rating System:
All fan-fiction posted in Anime Vice must have the rating in the title. This allows the readers to know what they’re getting into before they read it. If you are unsure what the rating should be, send some of the fan-fic writers (specifically Fire_Star and/or Superevil225) a PM, and they/we can help you. Please also ensure that before your fan-fic please explain why it is rated the way it is. I.e. Violence, swearing, nudity, est.
G – Good for everybody. This is like Pengu or Barney The Dinosaur.
PG – You wouldn’t want to show this to somebody under the age of 10 with out being there incase they get scared. Like Sailor Moon, or Pokemon. There might be some cleverly disguised adult jokes in there.
PG13 – So if you’re under 13 you’ll probably want some more parental guidance. This is like Naruto, or Dragon Ball. Maybe there’s a few swear words, and some kissing, but over all pretty tame.
14A – Nobody under 14 should read this. There’s probably quite a bit of swearing and some more mature themes. Still somewhat tame, maybe a brief shot of somebody’s rear end, no excessive nudity, but we've got some blood and adult themes. This is like Darker Than Black or Bleach.
18A—Nobody under 18 should read this. There’s quite a bit of violence, and few boobies during foreplay. There’s a bunch of swearing, and you might get the shivers from some of the violence. This is like Elfen Lied, or Akira.
XXX ratings are specifically banned from Anime Vice’s fan-fiction section. XXX works include explicit sexual acts, aka porn. Furthermore, explicit and extremely out of hand violence is also forbidden, these types of fan-fic's will be deleted and the poster will be dealt with by the Moderators.
Grammar
Spelling should be double checked, as well as basic grammar rules. If you work is a garbled mess of spelling mistakes, nobody will be able to understand you. We understand, however, that everyone makes grammar mistakes, so minor ones will be understood. However, any story that is heavy with grammar errors may be asked to either be re-written or edited so that is is more accessible and easy to read for users.
Also, cursing is NOT ALLOWED in your Fan-Fics, while you may be able to curse around in the forums in your Fan-Fics no such thing can occur. This has been confirmed by the Staff and you will be punished if you continue to curse after recieving a warning.
Updating
When you update your story, please let the rest of the community know by bumping your thread. If you have already done this twice, you can't do it a third time do to flood warning protection. So, because of this just as a fellow writer to bump it for you or you can write on Superdevil225's wall or Fire_Star's and they will gladly do it for you.Plagiarism & Disclaimers
Plagiarism and the use of copyrighted material are also strictly forbidden. Stealing the hard work of others is not cool. If you do post work from another author, you MUST have their explicit permission to do so. Furthermore, in order to avoid some awful legal complications the following authors have forbidden fan-fiction of their work:
- The works of Anne Rice
- The works of Anne McCaffrey
- The works of Mercedes Lackey
- The works of Raymond Feist
As a general rule of thumb, all fan-fiction must have a disclaimer at the top, in order to avoid copyright and legal complications. Disclaimers may go as follows:
“Bleach and all characters/settings are property of the original creator Tite Kubo. This is a work of fan created fiction based off of these characters. All rights reserved.”
