Greetings Anime Vice lunatics, once more let us gather together to celebrate the greatness of the Anime Vice community and it's unique user-created content for another in the line of the Anime Vice Community Spotlight. It's been a wild week, and we actually got our first video review in a very long time. Staff writer Tom Pinchuk and AV Mod sora_thekey got together and made a review for the theatrical release of Summer Wars to the US. Be sure to check out their review HERE. Just in case anyone noticed, if you were wondering why there wasn't a Japanese Lesson for this week. I was taking a week off as I enjoyed a marathon ofFullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood so I could more actively join in with Tom's Watch & Learn articles for the series. If you're curious about the series. Each episode profiles up to Ep. 52 now is filled out in fine detail. Also, don't forget to check out Ethan's blog post about the Image Captioning Initiative. There are still a ton of bonus points to earn and all you have to do it write a caption on some images.

I was going to make a review this week, but the anime didn't come yet in the mail. But I am glad that my blog make it on here :)

Is it just me or are all the blog links broken?

I would like to see RPG notices in the Spotlight, to make more people interested in it...

I'm getting 404's on all the blog links, but I look forward to reading them when that is fixed

@supermike6: @EganTheVile1:
I'm not sure why it's giving a 404 error. I'm checking the link data on my screen and they appear to be fine.

When I wrote this, I used "copy link location" and added them in. It's the same way I've always done it. I wonder why it's effecting just the Blogs section??

@FoxxFireArt: For some odd reason, all your blog links and the user links in that section have an excess bit of nonexistent indexing linkage, as in, instead of something like:
http://www.animevice.com/profile/shadowknight508/weekly-figure-preview-12011/107-7054/
your link is
 http://www.animevice.com/pm/detail/profile/shadowknight508/weekly-figure-preview-12011/107-7054/
There's a part "/pm/detail/" that was added into the link that shouldn't be there. Unfortunately I have no explanation how this could've happened except that it was possibly a glitch in how the website links pages in certain parts of the website under certain scenarios.

@Kuma_From_Argentina:
I would be happy to showcase RPGs, but I'm never in those forums. You can nominate things for the spotlight, but so far no one does that.

@EquitasInvictus:
You see, that's just weird. I used the very same style I always do when I'm making this segment. It worked on the reviews, but not the blogs, for some reason.

I need to take a look at some of these when I get a chance.  I've been keeping up to date with a few of you (metalsnake, equitas, soty, JJOR), but I am interesting in reading Dream's piece and Shadow's figure stuff since that's a hobby I am not engaged it, but I do love to "window shop".  These community spotlights are great for staying current on topics that I normally might have missed. I'll take a look at the other stuff, too I'm sure.  Surprises are good.

@ethan:
Thank you very much for fixing them. I really have no idea what happened there. I did the very same thing I always do when I'm making this segment when making links.

Glad I worked a little on this, happier I swallowed my ego and asked Ethan a question on the subject of what exactly to do to a page I had worked heavily on in the past, thanks Ethan for clarifying what should be done to me and I will try to incorporate the style guide as much as possible in the future!

Just wondering - are there any plans to incorporate significant Wiki edits into the spotlight, much like on Screened?

I ask because I just added the Area 88 OVA and did a full write up (cast, crew, characters, plot information) for all 3 episodes. It can still do with some more work, particularly with formatting, but it's off to a really solid start, I think. I figure other significant wiki edits (particularly those which we'd like to showcase), would be worth featuring in a showcase or something.

Submissions can take several hours to be approved.
