In that case, the show would have been greatly more mysterious, with us following L's thought-process at developments occurred. Would you have enjoyed this more than what we got through Light's POV? Would you still go and watch this Death Note Re-imagining if it was made after the fact?

If we get L narrating the story after the episode where he dies, than yes.
