Going to travel to the states next year and want to get at least one con. I need help working out which one I go for. Time of year doesn't really matter. Anime Expo seems like the "obvious" choice, can anyone recommend another one that I should be setting my sights on?

Otakon in Baltimore in the summer is one of the biggest ones in the country. If you have the money to go there and the patience to stand in some very long lines in the sweltering heat, then please do so. There's also Katsucon in the Washington, DC area in February if you'd prefer a more reasonable season.

I can vouch for Anime Central's quality as a convention, but not in comparison to other anime conventions.

Otakon sounds awesome, cosplay in summer heat could be interesting. Others look good too. Hmm, so much to choose from.

Thanks guys... will take any more suggestions if people have them :)

Kept looking around the last few days, found a couple of handy sites. I already knew Geekcal but found this one as well:

Seems like there's more to the site that's invite only... anyone using it? Anyway, it's good for conventions.
