The only means the Saiyans have to take out ships among the Empire would be ki blasts since they can only reach as far as the upper levels of their planet's atmosphere. Otherwise, the Empire just milks the Death Star to easily take them out and destroy their home world.
That would be Reborn Palpatine who can do that, not the same as when ruling the Galactic Empire. Empire Palpy is a withered old bag who got tossed down a shaft by a gimp. If he could mindrape everyone then, there wouldn't be any Resistance groups against him. He'd just mindrape them and be done. But he couldn't.@ReiKai: EU Sidious mindrapes and soulfucks all of them since they have never shown any resistance to such abilities.

Saiyan Space Pods actually travel craploads faster than any of the ships in SW....DBZ team dies because they can't breathe in space. Any attempts to land in pods will be shot down by spacecraft followed by a death star shot through the wormhole.
