So as both are high level taijutsu specialists I thought it would be a decent battle, who wins (use logic please)?

scenario 1 friendly battle
scenario 2 fight to the death

Raikage, in both scenarios, don't feel like explaining in details such obvious battle.

Raikage in both, but I'm just going to argue the second one.

Gai needed nearly his full power to fight 30% of Kisame's true power. Case closed. xP

@Kas: True but I have my doubt's if Raikage could beat Kisame alone either. Kirabe (the 8 tail jinchuriki) with assistance from Sabu and Ponta failed to so. Also Guy still had another gate to call upon (technically 2 but the final one would probably kill him) Also remember Kisame owned Asuma with no effort. Guy defeating a thirty percent power Kisame is actually nothing to be ashamed of. Also Raikage didn't exactly defeat Sasuke if you know what I mean.

raikage

Obviously Raikage in both scenarios for the following reasons:

Raikage possesses a tremendously high chakra level and it was noted by Karin that his chakra is reaches the levels of Tailed Beast chakra. Obviously this much chakra grants him an unbelievable amount of raw physical power. Like Might Guy, Raikage is a taijutsu specialist having a unique style of hand to hand combat. Raikage possesses a high amount of physical strength as he has been seen lifting a large amount of weight with a single arm and during the Kage Summit he easily destroyed his desk with an effortless and single punch. Raikage's physical strength is sufficiently high enough that he was capable of snapping Suigetsu's sword in two, punch straight through a wall and the floor. His strength is further seen when he easily punched a hole through Jugo in his Cursed Seal Level 2 Transformation and might I add that this transformation grants an armor to the user however Raikage easily penetrated it with a mere punch. Raikage's unique taijutsu style that resembles wrestling includes extremely powerful punches, elbow strikes, several throws, holds and pile-drivers. Raikage's strength is also sufficient enough that he was capable of breaking the ribcage of Sasuke's Incomplete Susanoo with a chop. Raikage has also shown a ridiculously high tolerance to pain as he showed no visible sign of pain while his arm was being burned by the Amaterasu flames and even more so when he simply cut off his arm still showing no sign of pain.

Like Might Guy, Raikage is an extremely fast shinobi so fast that even Sasuke whilst using his Mangekyou Sharingan was unable to follow his movements. Zetsu also noted that Raikage is ridiculously fast despite his bulky physique noting that Raikage was so fast that he grabbed Zetsu's throat before he could react. Unlike Might Guy, Raikage willingly uses ninjutsu in battle. Raikage is capable of using a lightning-based ninjutsu that allows him to release a constant surge of electricity from his body that further amplifies Raikage's physical power, speed and durability to an unknown point where his movements had become impossible to follow even by Sasuke's Mangekou Sharingan. When his abilities are amplified by this lightning-based jutsu Raikage's speed is so much that Shee a shinobi from Kumogakure stated that Raikage's speed becomes comparable to that of Minato Namikaze better known as the Fourth Hokage.

Raikage's already high durability is also amplified by the electricity surge. It works somehow as a powerful defense that Sasuke's Chidori barely caused a wound on Raikage's chest as he was visibly unfazed. I don't see how Might Guy stands a chance against Raikage.

Only thing I would like to add to this, is that the electricity would not let Might Guy touch the Raikage easily without being hurt.

Though I must say that people tend to overate Raikage which annoys me to no end.

Raikage, possibly with all the gates open gai could make it into somewhat of a fight, but in the end raikage both scenarios.

@hitsusatsu11: regarding to the guy and kisame fight u huys do notice first guy used the sixth gate because he was pressed by time because his team was drowning and he was fending off kisame without useing the gates and plus guy has AN UNIMAGINABLE AMOUNT OF WEIGHTS ON HIM PROBLY 10 TIMES HEAVIER THEN LEES SO IF HE REMOVES HIS Weights AND USES THE 8TH GATE HE HIS ONE BEAST
Post by Hell_Sniper7 (2 posts) See mini bio Level 1
@Kas: when i say nearly full power vs 30 percent kisame 30 percent wasnt even close to beating guy and guys weight were still on and the 8th gate is so much stronger then the 6th gate. they say the 8th gate can give u the power of a hokage so if he uses the 8th gate without those weights on kisame would get destoyed (remember lees wright being dropped broke the ground well guys weights are alot heavier then lees)

8-Gates Guy = wins in both
Raikage = win if Guy uses less than 8-Gates
Post by hitsusatsu11 (10,747 posts) See mini bio Level 20
@Hell_Sniper7: that was also a 30% clone.

if guy uses all 8 gates possibly tie, otherwise i can't see him winning

possibly. I think in a friendly fight Raikage dominates but in a fight to the death not at all. Raikage is probably stronger than Guy normally but it is a fight to the death which means if Guy knows that Raikage would defeat him he would go 8 gates and kill them both. Supposedly the 8th gate brings the user past kage level which means he would probably be stronger than Raikage and defeat him but at the cost of his own life unless the 7th gate is sufficient.

This statement about Gai is untrue. Gai broke gates because Tenten was drowning in the water prison and he needed to end the fight immediately. There is exactly 0 evidence to suggest he would have needed that if allowed to fight at his own pace. I mean he totally bypassed even using a move with a single gate open.

On topic: until I see Gai in a 1 on 1 fight without gimmicks, I am withholding any opinion on this.
