Bad match for Ippo. Ryu has greater attributes and ranged attacks in his arsenal.

Ryu is a martial artist , which means he is a better fighter

Post by mrwhitex (72 posts) See mini bio Level 17

not necessarily as ippo has great endurance and great punching power

Uh, no. That's not how it works, Bruce Lee admitted that Muhammad Ali would beat the shit out of him. The form of martial art doesn't matter as much as how much you've mastered it, and how strong/fast you are yourself, this isn't rock paper scissors

But that's besides the point, Ryu is just flat out stronger than Ippo

Ouch, don't wanna say it because Hajime no Ippo is probably my favorite anime, but Ippo gets stomped here.

Ryu via Hadouken.

@YoungChief: Bruce Lee was a humble dude.

@nishi99: True, but I was trying to make a point that just because you practice a certain martial art doesn't mean you auto win a fight against certain others

Both at their best?

Asuras wrath Ryu is Goku level. Nah, even SF Ryu wins.

Ryu would win.

Off topic: knowing martial arts doesn't make you a better fighter than a boxer.

Post by mrwhitex (72 posts) See mini bio Level 17

yea i know what you mean i practice MMA and a small guy flipped me over

@ImDictatorBowDown: For the most part it does say both are experts take the ufc for example I cant see a straight up boxer lasting long against a person who knows a variety of martial arts. Boxers are punch only they have nothing else low kicks would be devastating to a boxer and especially if they were put on the ground they know nothing about grappling.

Post by IndridCold (1,408 posts) See mini bio Level 14

@Falbium_Asmodeus: Exactly. For example, an experienced Muay Thai fighter would absolutely destroy any straight upboxer. Although, I'm pretty sure some boxers are trained to take hits to the lower body.

Post by Falbium_Asmodeus (975 posts) See mini bio Level 10

@IndridCold: Even if a boxer did train to an extent to take hits to the lower body a Muay Thai fighters legs are so powerful its not even funny hits from them would take out a boxer in no time.

Post by IndridCold (1,408 posts) See mini bio Level 14

@Falbium_Asmodeus: Yeah I know, it was a bad comparison since it's obvious that they could do that. Boxers just don't stand much of a chance when it comes to people who can do things like Akido or Jiu Jitsu.

@Falbium_Asmodeus: @IndridCold: which is why kenichi would beat Ippo if they fought

Post by ownagepants (386 posts) See mini bio Level 10

@SMXLR8: Keniichi would win because Hajime no ippo is based somewhat in the realm of reality when it comes to fighting history's strongest disciple is not.

@ownagepants: super human , there both street level
