@nishi99: So are we going by the versions shown in the pictures?

Assuming this is Hanzo at his prime and it's the older Hiruzen, I say Hanzo wins, but the 3rd will give him a good fight.

If we're talking both of them at their prime, then Hiruzen will win, but Hanzo would still make it difficult for him. Either way, it would be a good fight to watch.

If it's Hanzo in his prime vs Hiruzen in old age, then Hanzo would no doubt win.

If it's Hiruzen in his prime vs Hanzo in his prime, Hiruzen would probably win after a difficult fight.

If it's Hiruzen in old age vs Hanzo with before his death to Pain, Hiruzen would win.

@GIRUGAMESH: I'd say both of them at there prime to make it more interesting.

@nishi99: Indeed, I can see Hanzo winning mainly because of his poison, one whiff of that stuff and Hiruzen is done. I can't see Hiruzen winning this without knowledge and prep for the poison.

@SpeedForceSpider: True but we don't know what Hiruzen could do in his prime so i think its a hard one to call.

@nishi99: Well it does make it more interesting, you're right.

Hanzo would give him a great fight, but ultimately I see Hiruzen pulling a win out of the bag. By no means certain, as we don't know what Hiruzen's full abilities were at his best. Based on hype though he should win; he was classed as "The God of Shinobi" around the point (or not long before) Hanzo had taken to the battlefield, which makes the 3rd's victory more likely.

Going by feats, I would picture Sarutobi winning this match after a long and difficult fight. Close-range combat's obviously out of the question here thanks to the poisons emitted by Hanzo's body meaning Sarutobi would have to resort to mid to long-range abilities to dispatch the Salamander. Even then, Sarutobi would still have to deal with Hanzo's kusarigama which the Salamander is very proficient with and summoning of Ibuse. Because of Sarutobi having more diversity with his abilities in battle, I picture him prevailing here.

Prime Hiruzen supported by databook hype will win against any version of Hanzo (probably). Otherwise, I see Hanzo taking this after a single cut.

Hanzo is all hype and probably the weakest kage in history. He got defeated by a samurai? Someone who's not even on the same level of a kage..... Even an old age Hiruzen can beat Hanzo no doubt. Hanzo also got defeated by a kid (nagato) and to make things worse he gets slay so fast by an older Pein who basically killed him in one blow.

Hanzo wins 2/3 in these scenario.

Hiruzen was said to be the strongest of the 5 Kages in his prime but Hanzo is not from the main 5 countries so that statement does not mean anything in this fight.

If you disagree with the statement I just made thats like saying Pain is weaker than the current 5 Kage.

Hanzo was also said to be one of the strongest ninja's of his time.

I also believe that Hanzo's skills decreased due to the constant 24/7 gurad he was under.

@TheNobody: They explained why that was. Basically in his older age he became a little crazy and stopped training. Instead he relied on others to guard him and it was said that his fighting skills deteriorated greatly because of this.

Hiruzen was stated to be stronger than the current Kages in his old age. In his prime he was stated to be the strongest Kage ever by the author of manga in the databook.

I just wish Hiruzen had more flashbacks so we could see what he could do in his prime. Because going by the hype he would have been the strongest ninja in history.

This^^. And Mifune was damn fast as well, able to reach most opponents before they even had the chance to make a hand-sign. I would have said his speed is definitely kage level.
