What the heck , just feeling a bit crazy and who do you think takes it?

Will they test Guts to his limit or are they merely fodder?

Rawr
Rawr
  • Round one : Only the Dragon Slayer can be used
  • Round two : He has access to his gadgets [ bombs, knives, hand-cannon]
  • Round three : The armor is on xD
  1. They are fighting on the 300's standoff terrain - the one on the movie

note: Guts cannot use the weapons of fallen enemies nor use their bodies as shields , this match is strictly rationed

Uh, not much of a fight. Gutts stomps the holy fuk outta them in every scenario. Golden Age Gutts took out 100 fully armored and armed men while injured. I've done a thread like this before, and Gutts wins hands down.

Spartans are badass(especially the ones from 300), but they would be unable to block Guts's big-ass Dragonslayer:p

Look, I love Guts He is total Gar and all, but this is not  A  curb stomp For him as you may think
  • Round one : Guts loses, He Beat 100 Mercenaries, which is total bad ass But the 300 Spartans  Are some of the greatest movie warriors ever. i see Guts taking 80-90 of them but then goes down.
  • Round two- This can go either way, But guts has to use his head.
  • Round three : this win is very easy for guts

You're forgetting things already stated in fact.

1. Gutts massacred those mercs in the Golden Age, several years earlier in the series history. That's before the Brand of Sacrifice and before the Dragonslayer.
2. Gutts killed them while wounded previously and thus not at full strength.
3. The mercs/soldiers were fully armored and one of them (some guys brother) was strongest there with armor 3x thicker than normal with a giant chained mace that Gutts shattered after continuously deflecting blows from it in order to protect Casca, any one of which could smash a boulder. And then Gutts cleaved through the guys armor and all.
4. This event was a while before his encounter with Wyald, an Apostle, who effortlessly tossed a fairly large man well over 150ft into the air and impaled him on a tower, and Gutts managed to defeat Wyald in his Apostle Form through strainuous effort.

Spartans have no armor save their helmets and shields, which're made of bronze. Iron >>> Bronze. Dragonslayer >>>> Steel. Gutts has repeatedly displayed himself capable of cleaving five or more people into bloody chunks in a single swing of his sword, regardless of armor and shields as all of the above are torn right through effortlessly by Gutts' sheer strength, skill and the hardness of his sword. Even with a good sword Gutts can cleave an anvil in half easily. Such a sword broke against the tougher flesh of an Apostle. The Dragonslayer is much, much stronger than even that.

Look, it's like this. The Phalanx Maneuver that the Spartans are known for is completely useless against a single man, especially one with a weapon that's as long as their spears, none of which will ever hit him. Gutts can rip through scores of lesser Apostles and Psuedo-Apostles like a whirlwind of carnage and gore. The 300 have no means of protecting themselves or even slowing Gutts down. Getting close to Gutts means they'll die 5 or more at a time. Basically, in about 60 sword swings, Gutts will have killed them all. The remaining two scenarios just make him win faster.

@ReiKai: Do you happen to know anyone who can stale guts on swordsmanship?
Post by ReiKai (3,517 posts) See mini bio Level 10
It's a difficult debate. Gutts has no formal style. His swordsmanship was partly taught to him by a merc who raised him until he was 12 (then sold his ass to be raped by a member of the merc band), then tried to kill Gutts after Gutts kept getting praise for his accomplishments. Gutts killed him in self-defense, but the group thought he murdered their leader and Gutts ran for dear life. Got hit with a few arrows, fell down a ravine, survived and continued living and surviving on his own as a merc for over 4yrs.

Gutts' fighting skills and swordsmanship are purely from experience from numerous battles and constantly fighting for survival against other mercs, soldiers and even animals in the wilderness. They proved better than most professional and seasoned soldiers. Only Griffith beat him at first, but years later when Gutts decided to leave the Band of the Hawk, he faced Griffith again and this time defeated him easily in a single blow.

You could probably find a number of people on Gutts' skill level, but not many who're his actual equal in strength or stamina, and most you'd find are either super-human from the get-go, not human at all or too weak to be of any match for him. Serpico, for one, knows outright that in a straight up fight, Gutts would destroy him, which is why Serpico always chooses the best location to give himself the greatest advantage over Gutts and lower Gutts' ability to use his sword and equipment, enabling Serpico greater chances for victory.

In a straight up battle, there are few who could be considered equal to Gutts. Gutts has no true fighting style, however Casca, after seeing him battle so many times, called his way of fighting the "Sword of Carnage".
