@ReiKai: I never said it was...spectacular I meant how a second is a lifetime in battle. Remember how he was gonna die before his senses came back. I do believe however, Bardock can take Goku out before he does much. Bardock wasn't a typical arrogant Saiyan, he went in for the kill even on opponents stronger than himself.
@ReiKai: Alright I'll give you that one. Vegeta didn't become a fool until SSJ was introduced. After his initial appearance on Namek he was kicking ass like no tomorrow. Goku is no slouch in combat which in a fine point. Many sources say Nappa had a PL higher than 4000, which probably explains why Goku said the fight will take forever without Kaioken.
Another thing that is convincing on this theory is Vegeta was still confident Nappa could pull off a win if he focused. So yeah without Kaioken, Goku never had much a chance against stronger opponents he needed power-ups and transformations to win. Don't think for a second he could win most fight with his own power and skills alone.
