Gilgamesh vs HST opponents

@supernova7005: First of all they can't.

Only the thrown version of Gae Bolg, the one focusing on more destructive power and range, can be blocked. The non thrown Gae Bolg can't be blocked by any kind of shield and only if you have extreme levels of luck or casualty manipulation can save you.

Kamui would work, tsukuyomi would be laughed at and amaterasu can't burn cloths and trees lol.

And they are not faster, mach 20 is tops for them, Gil on the other hand has mach 45 going for him.

@Dream: Got it wrong there Dream, only thrown anti-army version can be blocked by shields, that was the whole point of Archer provoking him, to make him use the more destructive one so it can be blocked.

True, the "Soaring Spear that Strikes with Death" has more firepower and it's counterpart "Barbed Spear that Pierces with Death" is the one that can't be blocked. As we clearly see Archer pull Rho Aias out after it was launched, meaning it's not instant like the "Barbed Spear that Pierces with Death." Otherwise, Archer would have been hit immediately.

@Fehafare: Really? I know of the anti-army version being less powerful than the single-target variation, but assumed any defense without the slightest of openings could hold up to the single-target version of the spear.

Ok, I was sure all the abilities he's show to use where innate from the weapon (including Merodarh, Galadbolg and gungnir/gae-bolg), the abilities that get know from the heroes (the "active" abilities) he couldn't use.

Gae-Bolg's "Spear of Impaling Barbed Death" was created by Lancer, and was not part of the spear original abilities, being so Gilgamesh shouldn't be able to use that skill, (the reason Archer could use Gae-bolg skill is because he could download the knowledge from the weapon, but that's something Gil cannot do).

@Dream: Pretty sure both wiki and in game profile of the NP say that it lacks the casualty manipulation.

@kageyame: The only thing by Lancer himself is releasing thorns inside the body, both Gungnir and Brionac have he no miss effect. And as said Gil has activated the abilities quiet a few times, not just using the passive effect.

archer blocked it with rho aius in UBW....did you not watch their fight? susanoo is a far better defence than rho aius

Rho Aias is the perfect defense against thrown weapons, that's why it worked. Is a conceptual defense, so it blocks the concept of a thrown weapon

While Susanoo didnt proved to be an absolute defense, as the user can be harm inside of it or affected.

@Kuma_From_Argentina: rho aius can be broken, as we see that gae bolg was able to break through the defence. you mean to say rho aius can block even Ea? if it cant, then its obviously not an absolute defence.

susanoo provides defence from 360 degrees while rho aius doesn't.

not to forget that gae bolg missed saber's heart at the beginning of FSN

obito uses kamui, gil loses his head. itachi uses tsukuyomi, gil falls to his feet
