It's a bit different kind of thread than most of the battle ones. The question is which anime/manga character is the best described mage? In short which character has the best personality for a mage and being awesome by being like that ?

Anyways they aren't the only choices. Just few characters for example.

Well, he's good. But isn't he more like a fighter? He's smart and else, but more of a fighter. For example Rin is still a Glass Cannon and have to be really smart and make an excellent plan to even have a slightest chance against a Servant. He's more like a mage in that aspect. Somone who's still human, but applies channels some higher power as a way to fight. In short a mage is still somehow a normal human, but has some ways to defeat stronger enemies. Negi on the other hand with his magic barriers, instqant movement and powerful blast is close to a DBZ character.

The Best Mage is Clow! All the other ones are lame, Except for Negi, Lina and Scheineder (Not only a badass mage he is the name of a beer in Argentina!)

@Nerx: no, not really. he is one of those, "i do destructive magic for dummy book" guy, his mecha is the materialization of his magic
