Fly, Gundam!

Fly, Gundam! is an anime episode of Mobile Suit Gundam that was released on 06/02/1979

Amuro is severely combat fatigued and highly irritable, tired of doing every job that Bright throws at him he refuses to go on a reconnaissance sortie. Friction continues to grow between Bright and Amuro when Amuro continues to refuse to go into battle. The recon that Ryu and Hayato went on in Amuro's place stirred up Garma. Char suggests to Garma that the patrol may be a sign that the White Base is in trouble and it may be a good time to strike. Garma insists on going along for the battle in his own Dopp fighter, as another ploy to impress his older sister Kcylia. Char see's this as an advantage for his own positioning with the Zeon and tries to sabotage Garma's operation by interferring with the GAW Carriers radio, thus leaving Garma completely out there on his own.

Garma believes that the White Base is unable to launch the Gundam and therefore he saw this strike as an opportunity to bag the ship entirely with the Gundam inside. White Base was only unable to launch the Gundam as long as Amuro was in his depressed state of mind. Bright is able to knock some sense into Amuro eventually and Amuro agrees to go out onto the field, but to his own accord. Revising the combat plan Amuro launches in the Gundam and uses the Gundams powerful thrusters to jump high enough to engage the Zeon Dopp fighters in Air Combat. This throws Garma for a curve and his fighter is damaged in the action. A prime opportunity arose for the GAW attack carrier to destroy the Gundam but with the radio sabotaged he was unable to contact the GAW, barely making it out of harms way alive.

Unexpectedly a Federation Midea transport arrives from Federation airspace with vital supplies. Ordered by General Revil, Lieutenant Matilda Ajan is the captain of this transport, she furthers orders from Revel and catches Amuro's attention with her beauty.
