Not quite what Lucy expected...
Lucy finally attains her goal of joining the Fairy Tail guild under the guidance of Natsu Dragneel and Happy, only to find the guild full of a rambunctious crowd of wizards with very unique characters. Lucy's first stay at her new guild is cut short as she joins Natsu on a task to rescue a fellow guildmate on a mission, Macao Conbolt.
Arriving at the mountain where Macao took his mission, Lucy and Natsu find themselves attacked by an apelike Vulcan monster with a particular weakness for young women. The monster decides to take Lucy hostage, and Natsu is forced to chase after the Vulcan spirit to rescue her. With the help of Lucy's Taurus Spirit, a large cow wielding an axe that exhibits a very similar weakness for young women, Natsu is able to defeat the Vulcan -- only to find it was actually Macao, taken over by the Vulcan. Lucy, much to her amazement, later finds out that Macao actually defeated 19 of the beasts himself, only succumbing to the 20th one that took over his body.
Successfully returning to the guild, Macao enjoys a reunion with his son Romeo, having proven to Romeo that his father is no pushover. Lucy realizes that the dedication Natsu showed to his guildmate was one of the reasons she joined Fairy Tail, and is happy to be part of that, even if they're known for being an unruly and unmanageable lot.
