We've posted before about Serah, but it was mostly about how she was compared to a certain tentacle loving Bible Black character. That wasn't enough for some people, and it seems the Japanese have put together an item by item list of how to compile her entire wardrobe, affordable, and using only your credit card.

Shopping through a Japanese retailer, Shimamura, the grand total comes out to ¥9,350 or US$103.

While not perfect, its do-able. Though it lacks a certain flare of a dress made entirely of belts, but who's asking me?

Not actually me, but a facsimile of what i would look like if i tried this.

Neat idea, i can see it being helpful for those that regularly cosplay to do something like this for some of the more popular characters. Although as much as i may have tried i just dont think i pulled the look off, i will let you guys decide.

That actually looks pretty simple. Like some converse, a skirt with simple black lace.

I've been looking at the male characters to see what cosplaying them would take. You could probably just bleach and acid wash a Seph costume to white ... Add a thin tie.

Worth looking of the FFXIII characters.
Althought Cid doesn't look great either. Die his hair brown and you'd have Light.

Snow's not too hard either I cosplayed as him at Anime North in May [before they added those damn necklaces] the only parts that are really difficult are: getting the same pattern for that scarf, [I had something similar not exactly the same] the tattoo, [I didn't do it and gave a kind of lore based reason (very mild spoiler) ], the kind of ragged black/dark green wife beater he has underneeth [if you rip it up that much it looses structural integrity]  oh and I guess his boots [but I just used some black steel toed workboots that looked about the same]

Here's a picture in the hotel room before getting to the con. (It was before the E3 trailer and the later trailers where they gave him the first necklace and than later Serah's necklace I have something kind of like the first one that I used when I went to Fan Expo but this was the best pic I think)

Oh and as for the kind of emblem thing that he has on his other arm you can't see it in that pic but...

I made it mainly out of cardboard, cloth and metallic paint underneath the cloth has those holes you have in shoes and w/e (I forget the name) and is laced together

It's not the greatest but I thought it was decent and have got some compliments and people recognized it. (Although the first people to where two girls who told me the game wasn't out yet -_-') Also all together it only cost about $50 CAD. (keeping in mind I borrowed the boots found the old baggy pants and the old scarf and the paint and some of the things like that emblem and other stuff was used from stuff already around the house) The synthetic hair was the most expensive being about $25 (It's technically not a wig since the hair is actually sewn into this kind of pirate skull cap thing I bought at a costume shop for $2 and than some cotton fabric is sewn at the front and tied at the back to cover it all up and make it look like a bandana. So it's more a tight fitting hat) Although once I found a necklace kind of like the first one they show him wearing that became the most expensive thing running at about $30 it's a nice necklace though so I wear it sometimes.

Seriously, you could put that together for less than $130 US. Plus, it lacks the creativity and finesse of other FF costumes.

@Konanda: Not bad for an easy, quick cosplay!

Sorry, can't say I've got too many words of wisdom, I don't have a lot of experience assembling female cosplay.

I actually like how Serah looks quite a bit, it's quite realistically doable and you'd look pretty normal wearing it.  I have some friends that it'd probably look really cute on.

That said, never seen the afforementioned BB, and I'd rather not my friends look like they walked out of something quite like that.

@John_Martone:
Thanks and it's actually funny you mentioned that since on monday my friend who has been playing through Final Fantasy XIII told me "So I realized that you look a lot like Snow especially when you had your hair grown out, (I got it cut fairly short recently) well except he's blonde. You even sound similar." So I was said back to her "Ya that was why I cosplayed as him since we are about the same build and height. [I'm 6'4" he's 6'5"] If I worked out my upper body more, grew my hair back out dyed it blonde and got blue fake contacts (I have green eyes) it would be pretty freaky eh*"

*The way to turn anything into a question use it wisely.

@Konanda: Obviously you need to buy her these clothes and she can be a Serah to your Snow.

Oh man, Shimamura...they're like the GAP of Japan, only their indentured overseas workers are paid in Twizzlers instead of $0.10/hour. I bought one shirt there and it literally fell apart within a few washes--stitching came undone and the thing shrunk to the point I couldn't pull it down over my bellybutton. How does Serah keep up the fight in such shoddy threads?

Take pictures! "

Lol she's not really into cosplaying. Also she's a little short for Serah. Serah's 5'5" and my friend is about 5'1" or so and while I'm not Snow's exact height but I'm pretty close.
