New FFXIII Character Revealed; Japan Goes Crazy Over Afro

A magazine scan has hit the 'net revealing a hithertofor unseen character in upcoming Final Fantasy XIII: the black, be-afro'd Sazzu Kattsuroi (“Sazzu”? What is he, a bird from the Lion King?). Sazzu bears two pistols in knee holsters (which seem like they'd be a pain to get at), and a chick. As in, a baby chocobo. Aww!


Kattsuroi's appearance has made a splash on the Japanese intarwebs, who are amazed to see a character with an afro in a Squenix game.

The guy looks like John Shaft!  The Japanese article had Eddie Murphy (a little), Lionel Ritchie (perhaps in his days with the Commodores where he did sport an afro), Martin Lawerence (certainly because of his smile), and the actor from the 70s, Richard Roundtree (spitting image!) as the character's lookalikes.
