Garai is one of the survivors involving the MW.
15 years ago, he was once a gang member going on Mafune Island. In that island, he met the young kid named Michio Yuki. Garai ended up taking him hostage in a cave and rape him. However, by the time he and Michio went out of the cave, they find themselves to be survivors of a poisonous gas. The name of the poisonous gas is MW. While they were going to a village, Michio becomes affected by MW, but Garai manages to rescue him.
The incident leads Garai to become a priest. He finds out that Michio has become insane due to the effects of the gas. Garai's mission is to save Michio.
