It's Lucy's time to shine as she faces off against Bydo in a glorious display of whip mastery and acrobatics. Gray fights Sugar Boy for the key that will either kill all his friends or save them, and Virgo seems to think she's on a different show. Plus Fairy Tail's animators make sure we get to see plenty of what matters most; Lucy's enormous bikini-clad chest.
Lucy wastes no time this week in her battle against Bydo summoning Taurus and Virgo into the fray. Bydo is a tricky one though, not only is he more agile than he looks, he also has a bunch of dangerous potions up his sleeve. Unleashing deadly fire and wind attacks and even transforming himself into a giant octopus monster!--hey, this is anime... tentacles were bound to show up eventually, right?
Poor little Coco just wants everyone to get along. Talking about Coco, does anyone else find her voice adorable?
After Taurus and Virgo are no match for Bydo--the latter of whom clearly thinking she's on Dragon Ball Z--Lucy gets a new weapon from the Spirit World. An extendible whip called 'Eridanus's Fleuve d'Etoile' or 'The river of stars' for those of us who don't speak French. I've always thought Lucy is far too skilled to be standing in the background all the time summoning spirits Pokémon-style to fight for her. I think it's cool to see her showing off her own skills, or hey, maybe I just have a thing for girls with whips, who knows?
We get another glimpse at Gajeel's battle with Pantherlily at some point, but it's hardly worth mentioning, it was just to remind you it's still happening. Instead, the animators seemed far more focused on showing Lucy in her bikini, which I'm not at all complaining about. But if they're more than happy to show Lucy in all her boobtastic glory like this, why did they bother censoring Edo-Lucy's outfit before? Just seems a little odd to me.
After Natsu finishes Hughes and Bydo off, the rest of the episode has Gray chasing after Johnny Bravo--sorry, Sugar Boy--on a bike he conveniently acquired off-screen. Sugar Boy didn't need a bike of his own though, since he can inexplicably glide across the ground at high speed. After catching him the two fought over the key until it cracked and shattered. Sugar Boy told Gray that key was his only hope of saving his friends (and for a second, even I thought Gray was reckless destroying the thing) but Gray reminded us all that he's an 'Ice Maker Magic wizard' and can make all the silly big keys he needs. Oh, and he finished Sugar Boy off using his arm + elbow ice sword combo, which is always awesome.

While I didn't find it quite as exciting as last week's instalment, we had Dragon Ball Z moves, Lucy kicking ass and that Johnny Bravo guy finally beaten silly... what more could you ask for really? Well, I guess we didn't get any more Erza-on-Erza action as I'd hoped, but still, the story is progressing at a good pace and according to the preview, Edo-Erza is back next week. Or is she? I get the feeling from the preview that it might be Earthland Erza in disguise. What do you think?
