Mikado is attacked by Seiji and is saved by Celty. However, before she can deal the finishing blow, the girl with Celty's head steps in front to beg her to stop. Celty mentions that the head is actually not hers, and it is revealed in another flashback that the girl was the missing Mika Harima all along. The story was true up to a point: Mika was a stalker who had grown infatuated with Seiji after sitting next to him in class and became obsessed after he saved her and Anri from some bullies. However, when she caught sight of Celty's head in a jar, Seiji slammed her head into a wall to keep her from telling anyone. Namie took her body and with Shinra's help they were able to heal her, but they told Mika that in order to make Seiji happy they would have to give her plastic surgery to make her head look like Celty's.
Upon hearing this news, Seiji stops attacking and decides to accept Mika's love because her face reminds him of Celty's head in a jar that he was obsessed with before. Back at home, the real Celty confronts Shinra about the fact that he had been lying to her for several years about the location of her head. While he admits that he did lie, he also admits that he is deeply in love with her headless body and out of that selfish love would not care to heal her back to her former self even if he did want to retrieve her head. The two of them end up punching each other before snuggling on a couch.
The next day finally arrives and everything seems to be back to normal. Seiji and Mika show up in class holding on to each other's arm, Kida is loudly talking about the latest gossip of a mass-meeting of Dollars in Ikebukuro and the appearance of the headless rider, and Mikado asks Anri out a date after kicking Kida out of the way. However, Izaya and Namie seem to be plotting something behind the scenes to awaken Celty's head, referring to her as a Valkyrie from Norse legend and mentioning that some kind of war might be necessary to open her eyes.
