For bravely running away in the first episode, Cruz (a.k.a. "Yamada") is treated as the unofficial gopher of the group. Adam Blade demands that he get him some cigarettes, and when Cruz runs to Eve Neuschwanstein for help, Eve demands that he get some "Dero Doro" drink for her. Adam is satisfied with the cigarettes, but Eve tells Cruz that he got her the wrong drink ("Doro Doro"). So Eve decides to drag Cruz along with her all around town until they find some shady character in an alley who sells them Dero Doro. However, after getting the drink, a Testament appears, forcing the two to duck into a nearby building.
Suddenly, it turns out to be a trap, as the two find themselves attacked by Uten (think Carl Clover from BlazBlue, minus the creepy doll and glasses) of Simeon's Elite Four. He appears to be incredibly overpowered for a Needless, as he can float in midair, has an invisible barrier that Eve cannot penetrate, and constantly summons several objects out of thin air, like small knives, his Bermuda Triangle(?) attack. After beating the crap out of Eve to the point where she can barely summon her Doppleganger power (due to lack of calories), he even somehow replaces the flooring around the two with a large square of spikes, except for the part they happen to be standing on.
When he throws a few more knives at them, Eve asks Cruz for some kind of shield, and he ends up using the can of Dero Doro. Some of the drink spills on the ground, but some also appears to hover over the spikes below, revealing Uten's true power: the ability to cast illusions and make things seem invisible. Having figured this out, Eve also reveals the reason behind her wanting only the Dero Doro drink: it happens to contain 5,000 calories per can, enough to recharge her powers. Having figured out Uten's trap, Eve simply breaks through the wall seperating them with her fist, and knocks him out.
As the two head home, they start wondering who exactly carried all of Uten's equipment, as he couldn't have done it himself. Meanwhile, the man with the metallic arms, Saten, watches them from afar.
