Renton is a young mechanic who loves to lift (air surf). One day a strange girl named Eureka crashes into his house as she is piloting her mech. Little does he know, Eureka will change his life forever, and set him on a tough action-filled journey.
Overview
Renton Thurston is a young man living in the small town of Bell Forest with his grandfather--and sole remaining family member-- Axel Thurston. Alienated from his neighbors and classmates by the legacy of his father, Adroc Thurston, who died saving the world under mysterious circumstances, Renton idolizes a group of air-surfing mecha pilots known as Gekkostate.One day, a member of Gekkostate named Eureka crash lands at his grandfather's mecha repair garage, and Renton soon finds himself caught up in her fight against the government's military forces. In a desperate situation, Renton is forced to pilot her mecha, the Nirvash. Under enemy fire and completely terrified, Renton passes out and unconsciously wipes out a military squad by unleashing a strange power known as the Seven Swell, last seen on the day that Adroc Thurston died. Soon afterward, Renton is invited to join the Gekkostate by its leader, Holland.
Aboard the Gekko, Renton slowly comes to terms with his growing infatuation with Eureka even as he struggles to fit in with the rest of Gekkostate. As he travels with the group, Renton finds himself pulled into their struggles. Little by little, he realizes the true nature of the Gekkostate and their enemies in the government, uncovers the secrets buried deep beneath the surface of the planet on which humanity resides, and comes to understand his father's legacy even has he fights to save the world himself.
