Celty continues to have nightmares
Celty wakes up in a cold sweat as she explains she has been having a reoccurring nightmare. In it, she comes close to finding her head in a dark house but is always attacked by some unseen assailant. She continues to worry about what will happen to her without her head and if she can exist without it. Not to mention that what happens if her head is destroyed since her body is pretty much invincible. Shinra wonders how exactly she can dream without a head and tries to interpret what her nightmare means. He then realizes that the two have the day off and they should do something as he turns off his phone. Celty offers to make Shinra lunch as she runs out to get ingredients to make him a special dish.
Despite not having a sense of taste, she is able to make a remarkable dish. Shinra digs in and is brought to tears by it. Celty wonders why he is crying as he points out how happy he is. She assumes though that he actually hates it and is trying to appease her by forcing himself to eat it. He claims that this is not the case but Celty uses her powers to absorb the meal in a black sphere and promptly leaves, leaving Shinra to wonder what he did wrong. Elsewhere in town, Kadota is observing Yagiri Pharmaceuticals since the kidnappers who tried to abduct Kaztano said they worked for the company. He notes that things seem to be normal while he walks off. In the opposite direction, a teenager with fireworks jumps the fence and begins to attack the place.
At Raira Academy, the day is coming to an end as Anri realizes someone took her house shoes. Mikado and Masaomi begin to look for them since they wonder if she misplaced them. Masaomi leaves as he says he will go and find the person who stole them. Anri decides to give up and go home with her school shoes on. Mikado stays until the late afternoon and finds her shoes in the exercise courts of the school. As he retrieves them, Celty and Shizuo hang out as they have a hard time remembering what used to be in an empty lot. Celty wonders about how people can forget things easily as she soon remembers the location, seeming to feel better after hanging with Shizuo.
Shinra waits at home for Celty to come home as a businessman knocks on his door and chastises him for leaving his cell phone off and that he is needed in town. Shinra is asked to perform an operation on the teenager who attacked Yagiri Pharmaceuticals with fireworks, stating the company kidnapped his girlfriend and got injured in the process. Shinra fixes him up as the businessman reminds Shinra to keep a certain secret for Namie. As he heads home, he spots Celty as the two make up and go to Russia Sushi for dinner.
Celty finds hope from a message in her fortune cookie
Shinra makes up with Celty as the two eat the odd sushi prepared by Simon and have fortune cookies. Shinra states that Celty's fortune cookie says that she'll find something she's looking for. Celty seems to be overjoyed with this information. Shinra notices his says unrequited love but he doesn't show Celty. Mikado gets to Anri's apartment and drops off her shoes, but she coldly excuses herself as she thanks him. That night, Celty has a pleasant dream for the first time in a while. She dreams that she is back in Ireland and her horse and carriage follows her through a beautiful meadow. She is shown to have remembered what her head looks like as she carries it in her arms. It is revealed that her head looks like the girl that Seiji ran off with. That same night, Seiji and the mysterious girl check into a hotel as Seiji claims he loves the girl, addressing her as Celty.
The episode is told from three different points of view: Celty's, Kadota's, and Mikado's.
