Charle and Happy use their Aera abilities to fly Natsu and Wendy into the Anima and enter the world of Edolas to save their guild. Upon seeing it, they become awe struck by its beauty and bizarre environment. But due to the limited amount of magic in the world, Charle and Happy's wings disappear and the group fall into the middle of a forest. Lost, they decide to travel without a lead, encountering giant fishes, and frightened travelers and fishermen along the way. But to their luck and relief, they manage to stumble upon Fairy Tail. However, unbeknownst to them, this is not Fairy Tail they know.
Charle explains that Edolas's magic is limited compared to this world. To fix this problem, the King of Edolas invented a spell called Anima, a hyperspace magic that sucks up magic from Earthland. She continues saying that the King's Anima spells started six years ago, and that someone is closing the vortexes of Anima. While stating this, she thinks (to herself) that Mystogan is probably the one who has been closing Anima all over the world, but this particular Anima was too strong for anyone alone to defend against it. Charle then states that Fairy Tail was targeted by Anima due to the many strong mages in it.
Happy sadly asks Charle if it is his and her fault. Charle informs Happy that this was their mission from the day that they were born. Even though Charle was hatched and raised in this world, the mission and basic information about Edolas is ingrained in her head. The only exception is Happy who does not know anything about his mission. Charle does not mention her mission, and tells Happy that he has to remember his mission himself. Charle informs the others that since going to Edolas will violate her orders they must disguise themselves to avoid being seen by the Kingdom of Edolas. After that has been said, Charle makes Natsu and Wendy promise to kill her and Happy if they show even a hint at betraying them. The two dragon slayers become shocked but hesitantly nod in agreement. With them all ready and set to go, Happy and Charle use their Aera to fly Natsu and Wendy through the remaining traces of Anima to reach Edolas.
As the cats fly their partners in the skies of Edolas, Natsu and the others watch the new world's floating islands and a river flowing in the sky with awe. When Charle tells them this is no time for sight seeing, Happy and Charle's wing magic disappear, and the four crash through green and purple balloon-like mushrooms. Unsure which direction to take, Natsu decides to leads the group, even though he doesn't know where he's going. As they walk through the forest, Natsu notes that his sense of smell doesn't work because nothing smells familiar and that everything is new while Wendy notices that the air tastes different. When Charle tells the group that they should get disguises to avoid getting noticed by the people of Edolas, Natsu proposes they wear leaves.
As Natsu and the others see the river in the sky from before, they notice an Edolas native fishing near the river. Natsu goes over to him and asks the man if he has seen a guild called Fairy Tail. However, the fisherman gets frightened by Natsu's appearance and jumps off the cliff. Charle gets angry at Natsu because the man may alert the Edolas kingdom. As the group walks across the river, Natsu sees a giant fish and attempts to catch it, but Natsu is reminded by Charle that his fire magic doesn't work in Edolas. With no choice, the group begins to run with the giant fish chasing them. However, it ends up falling off a cliff to their luck and relief.
After that, the group walks on and sees two people, an elderly woman and a young man. At first, Happy tells them politely that they are lost travelers, but the pair bow down and beg for forgiveness from the "Exceed" making Happy's group question the word "Exceed." Yet, Natsu continues to ask the pair and scares them into running away. The Dragon Slayer and their cats then move on until Natsu steps on a mushroom which causes a domino effect of the mushrooms launching the group repeatedly into the air until they crash down into a deserted, pumpkin storehouse. The group change into new clothes to re-disguise themselves. After changing, Natsu sees a Fairy Tail symbol, and everyone rushes towards the guild with the Fairy Tail symbol which is located in a beanstalk.
At first, the group is relieved that everyone in the guild is okay, but Charle notices that they are all acting differently. Happy, Natsu, Wendy, and Charle then decide to hide under a table and observe their friends. They first see Edolas Juvia who tells Edolas Max that she will take a job, and Edolas Gray, who is seen wearing numerous layers of clothing, asks Juvia if he can accompany her. Juvia rejects his offer and tells him to strip down a little more before asking her again. Meanwhile, Edolas Jet and Droy scold Edolas Elfman for messing up on the job. Edolas Macao and Edolas Wakaba ask Edolas Cana if she wants a drink. Edolas Cana, who dresses like an upper class lady with a nice, sparkly, hat, declines their offer politely because she states that she dislikes alcohol. Edolas Alzack and Edolas Bisca are seen cuddling while Edolas Gray shouts out his love for Juvia which cause Edolas Reedus to yell at him.
Natsu is surprised by Gray and the others while Wendy is shocked by Alzack and Bisca's relationship. Lucy Ashuray, who wears all black and a skull hairtie notice the hidden group and asks them who are they and what are they doing underneath the table.
