An living puppet that gives Ahiru the pendant and watches over her. Drosselmeyer created her to improve the "story's" plot.
In the anime, she was a puppet created by Drosselmeyer to interfere with Ahiru's plans. In the manga, she instead serves as a replacement Drosselmeyer, giving Ahiru her powers.
The original character of Edel was created in 2002 by Ikuko Itoh for the anime, "Princess Tutu". Her manga incarnation was created and developed by Mizuo Shinonome. She was voiced by Akiko Hiramatsu in the Japanese language track, and Christine Auten in the English version.
She was just a pawn to Drosselmeyer's master plan until she interfered with it by helping Ahiru with her goal. She has a music box that also possesses magic powers and items.
She gave Ahiru the pendant in place of Drosselmeyer, who is absent from the manga. She also attempts to aid Ahiru in her quest. In the manga, she took Drosselmeyer's place in being the villain and provoking Tutu to fight against Kraehe and manipulating reality.
