Drum Island

Origin

The snowbound island known to be home to the greatest medical doctors in the entire Grand Line, Drum Island is home to the Drum Kingdom, which once was a happy place until it had fallen under the wicked rule of King Wapol and his vile followers. At the time the Straw Hat Pirates arrives to seek medical asylum for the illness-stricken Nami, the island has no ruler, for Wapol and his men decided to terrorize the open seas as pirates instead.

Creation

Drum Island was originally created by Eiichiro Oda for use in the One Piece manga franchise. It first appears during the Baroque Works Saga: Drum Island Arc in One Piece: Volume #15 and in One Piece: Episode #79.

Characters

Drum Island introduces multiple characters into the One Piece universe, including soon-to-be newest crewmember of the Strawhat Pirates Tony Tony Chopper.
