It's a stormy night in the ocean. A young boy falls off a cruise liner. No matter how much he hollers, the crew can't hear as they search. They toss a life preserver off the boat and seem to give up rather easily. He struggles to swim, but is swallowed up by a giant wave. He's crashed under the water and appears he will drown. A dark figure in the water has seem to of found him.

Day as come and on a small island a young girl fishes with a strange looking pig with her named Tonkatsu. This thinks she caught a fish, but she pulls up the young boy. He looks like he's dead. The girl pulls him ashore. The boy awakens to find the girl panicking about what to do. She tries smacking him awake, but it doesn't work. He thinks his in hell. When she goes into to give CPR he starts to think this is heaven. Her technique leaves much to be desired and she fills him up with air like a balloon.

She rushes the boy back to the village elder and chief, Obaba. The whole village has gathered around to see the stranger. The girl, named Suzu, is curious why this person is so flat chested. Obaba reveals to everyone around that the reason is because this is a boy. Everyone surrounding are girls and surprised to hear there is a boy on the island. Obaba has so shout to get everyone to leave. Someone in the roof is spying on Suzu and the sleeping boy.

He wakes up and has a bit of a panic when he remembers Suzu form the CPR kiss. He slips and falls off the runway to the house. A bit later he's fine and is eating a meal. Ikuto thinks he's washed ashore on Japan. Obaba explains to the boy named Ikuto has washed up on an island. While everyone is Japanese, no one knows where this island is. 130 years ago the ship Obaba was sailing on was part of an envoy leaving Japan to learn more about the Western world they had just open to. A strong storm struck the boat and everyone washed ashore on this island. Luckily it had everything that was needed to live and thrive. The island was named after the ship they were sailing on. It was called "Airantou". No ships are coming to this island and Obaba tells Ikuto to rest at Suzu's home.

As they are walking Suzu sense danger. She tossed an apple toward a tree and reveals a young girl named Ayane. She's dressed in the clothes of a Shrine Maiden. Ayane tries to convince Ikuto not to stay with Suzu and lies about the condition of her home and that she wets the bed. This causes Szuz to attack by throwing stones. Ayane evades the attack well until she falls to the ground hard on the head, but Suzu is unconcerned. Seems Ayane can take quite a bit of punishment. Ayane tries to strike Suzu with a dart from a bow gun, but a passing cart causes her to accidentally hit Ikuto and he passes out.

At Suzu's home, Ikuto rests and starts to regain feeling in his body. Ikuto asks when Suzu's family will return, but she explains she doesn't have any family. She's been living alone for a while now. She suggests that Ikuto go and take a bath. Suzu as a small hot spring in her home. He's relaxing in the tub when Suzu walks casually in completely nude. The sight of her nude body causes him to suffer a major nosebleed. Ikuto is a rather shy personality.

Ikuto struggles to bath with the girl. She has no memories of men and bathing with others is something that is the normal thing to do. Suzu is a rather innocent person. She asks to scrub his back. he tries to resist, but he gets him to comply. He's over come by the the sensation. When she asks him to scrub her back and reveals her nudeback he's overcome aagin with anose bleed. Suzu is confused as to what could be wrong. Ayane reveals that she's been in the bath water this whole time and is nude as well. They girls pull Ikuto between them as they argue about who is going to wash Ikuto. Ikuto being pressed against the nude bodies of these two girls causes yet another massive nose bleed and he passes out.

Later Suzu brings Ikuto some water, but discoveres what is under the covers isn't Ikuto. Ayane had left a giant radish under the covers as she took Ikuto away.

The ostrich Ayane is riding is tripped up by a girl named Rin. She's a carpenter on the island. (She always refers to Ikuto as "danna". This is an informal way to address one's husband, but Ikuto doesn't seem to react to the title. He might believe she is saying "dono", which is an honorific similar to "sama".) Rin shyly tries to invite Ikuto to her home, but is interrupted by the appearance by an odd looking bear and the child riding atop the animal.

Ikuto asks why a kid is riding ona bear and she gets angry about being called a kid. She commands the bear, Kuma-Kuma, to strike in retribution. The girl's name is Yukino. Yukino tries to have Ikuto make this up to her by going on a date with her. Rin steps in and doesn't want the girl to run off with Ikuto. The start to have a struggle for Ikuto, and Rin battles Kuma-Kuma. While these two are distracted, Ikuto staggers into town and feels the eyes of everyone on him.

Another girl in glasses approaches Ikuto. Out of nervous reflexes he panics. This girl is named Chikage and seems mush more passive and normal then the others. He tries to relax, but she's after his as well. Ikuto senses danger and barely avoids a dart from a blow gun, and the dart strikes Chikage. A very young looking girl in red shrine maiden clothes appears from the bushes. She's surprised her dart was dodged. She pulls out another blowgun that can fire multiple darts. Now Ikuto has to run from dart fire. Chikage is awake and reveals she wants to research Ikuto. Rin and Yukino spot Ikuto running from this dart blowing girl and run after him. Ayane appears in the river ahead of him and joins the pack chasing him.

Everywhere he goes girls join the mob after him. Suzu appears to get everyone to stop chasing him. The girls accuse Suzu of trying to keep him for herself. Obaba arrives and reveals to Ikuto that he's the only man on the island. Only now does he notice that fact.

Ikuto gets a boat on the beach and prepares to leave, Surprisingly enough none of the girls seem to be trying to stop him, but Suzu. There seems to be some sceret they are withholding. He doesn't get very far before being sucked into a whirlpool. The entire island is surrounded by whirlpools. Ikuto is forced back on shore. Something about Obaba saying it's impossible to leave triggers the anger Ikuto has toward his father always saying that to him. Oddly enough, the boat is fine and Ikuto tries again.

Yet again he fails. Over and over Ikuto tries. The sun is now start to set. He now believes he knows the pattern of the waves to escape. Seeing the direction Ikuto is taking, the girls now look worried. Suzu dives into the water after him. He finds a small gap between the whirlpools. A huge killer whale appears and blocks Ikuto's path. He gets frustrated, tosses his oar, and accidentally hits the whale. The whale is angry now and chases after him.

Ikuto makes a break for the gap and the whale knocks him over gently. Ikuto can't move. He wasted too much energy earlier. Suzu dives in the water to save him. She takes his hand and them come to the surface of the water. She calls for the whale Sashimi. The whale surfaces right below them and lifts them out of the water. Sashimi had been trying to protect Ikuto. Just past the small gap of whirlpools is giant whirlpool. Sashimi's job is to protect people from being caught in that dangerous spot. Ikuto apologizes for striking her earlier.

Ikuto realizes that escape is impossible. He tries to relax and Suzu welcomes him to Airan Island. he finally takes a good look at Suzu. She's hardly wearing anything and the white panties she's wearing are now damp and nearly transparent. He suffers a nosebleed and passes out.

After the ending theme, Obaba expresses hope for the island, and all the girls seem to be plotting something. Suzu is just trying to understand why Ikuto has passed out.

Points of Interest

  • Suzu mentions that Ikuto hasn't eaten anything for a week, but that is in contradiction to events. Ikuto was only lost on the boat the night before. This was from the manga version.
  • In the Japanese version Yukino doesn't use any form of the word "my". Instead she uses her own name. In Japanese culture, it's considered cute for young girls to talk about them self in the first person. It's not something done frequently by adult women. This seems to be a joke that while Yukino doesn't want to be seen as a child. She's speaking in a childish manner.
