Dreyfus is one of the Holy Knight in Kingdom of Lyonesse.
When Dreyfus was a young man, he met the legendary Meliodas and the Deadly Sins. He was praised by the Meliodas much to his pleasure. But after ten years, Dreyfus and his long time acquaintance and fellow Holy Knight Hendricksen killed his own brother Zaratras the one great Holy Knight at the time so that they might succeed the position. To erase their tracks, they framed the Seven Deadly Sins as the perpetrators of the crime, forcing them them to become outlaws and wanted criminals.
Dreyfus is an antagonist created by Suzuki Nakaba for the series The Seven Deadly Sins.
Not much has changed with Dreyfus since his introduction.
Dreyfus is a middle aged man with shoulder length black hair and a thin beard and mustache. He has thick eye brows and a slightly furrowed brow.He is usually seen wearing his holy Knight Armor which covers the majority of his body.
Dreyfus is a stern man. He is willing to give second chances to his subordinates but is merciless when he is opposed more than once. Despite his air of honor, Dreyfus is a treacherous man. He murdered his own brother and framed the greatest warriors in the land for his own greedy purposes. However he was obviously disturbed at the news of his son's death.
Dreyfus first appears when he addressed the Holy Knights at Liones. He preached that the King was mistaken in his belief of avoiding the Holy War of Prophecy. He told all Holy Knights to prepare themselves as they would lead the Kingdom to victory in the approaching war. After the speech, Dreyfus made small talk with his rival and fellow Great Holy Knight Hendricksen. A subordinate entered the room and informed Dreyfus of the Norther Barbarians and their sudden invasion. Dreyfus dispatched only 2 Holy Knights, Gilthunder and Hauser to deal with the Barbarians, numbering 3000 in total. The two Holy Knight easily succeeded in defeating the Barbarians and return shortly after. Dreyfus commended the two for their work. and after the two easily defeat the entire army and return to the castle, commends them for their work, but also told them that they should not believe that what they just fought was the Holy War of Prophecy.
Hauser voiced his concern at not knowing who the enemy would be since only the occurrence of the Holy War was predicted, not who the enemy would be. Gilthunder expressed his belief that their enemy could likely be the Seven Deadly Sins. Hauser was doubtful that legendary as they were, only seven warriors could fight a war. Dreyfus quickly addressed this saying that whether they were the enemy or not, they would need to be annihilated eventually, particularly Meliodas. Dreyfus recalled Meliodas having destroyed an entire Kingdom in the past, leaving a giant empty valley where the Kingdom once was, which shocked Hauser, making him question the authenticity of the story. They drift onto the topic of Hendricksen and his New Generation of Holy Knights and how Hendricksen's force of Holy Knights was steadily growing at a pace that seemed unnatural.
Dreyfus was informed of the events that took place at the Byzel Fight Festival, not the least of which was that his son Griamor was killed in battle. According to Gilthunder, Dreyfus locked himself away in his private chambers and mourned.
Dreyfus' whole power scheme is still in the shadows, as a Holy Knight and one of the only 2 Great Holy Knights, his power must be immense. Indeed, he displayed his superiority against Guila and Hauser's combination technique, being the only one of his unit capable of taking the attack head on and remaining uninjured, whereas Helbram and Gilthunder needed to defend and Jericho was not even able to do that much and was subsequently knocked out. So far, aside from his physical prowess, Dreyfus has displayed one versatile ability called Break.
