Honestly I think the movie sucks.  The comment made about every DB fan going to see the movie to see if it really is bad, really will pad the stats for ticket sales and I refuse to be part of that padding.  I won't go to the theater to watch it. I will watch the movie, and hate every moment of it personally, but I refuse to be part of the high ticket sales this movie will make, as it will not mean it’s a good movie, it will mean that people paid to confirm their fears.  If this movie was made IN Japan, sort of like the Death Note movies, I would say it would have better chances, but because it’s made in the US, by fox no less, Hope has almost dwindled.  Call me a pessimist, but this is just my own opinion, not saying anyone else thinks the way I do.
I am sure it’s going to be a good movie for special effects and maybe even story, but when you smack on a "DRAGON BALL" sticker on it, it had better damn well live up to what it’s based on and cater to the fans.  To me it’s going to turn out like Final Fantasy Spirits within, if it had a generic title, not related to a huge franchise, then I am sure no one would hate it the idea automatically and see it first, but the only reason its going to be called DRAGON BALL and loosely base on the series is to get TICKET SALEs  That’s all.  Bad move, as instantly people hate.  If you wanted a success using the DB name, then should have been more true to the series they are trying to reproduce.  For a series that has such hard core fans, the use of "Creative Licensing" just does not cut it. Sorry.
