I'm surprised the video hasn't been pulled off of youtube yet. You'd think they'd want it taken off so people couldn't see it. It always amazes me when film makers feel they need to re-invent concepts for no real reason. Dragon Ball has been a successful franchise so you'd think something must have been done right. The film makers must feel they know better?
I doubt it destroys the franchise. Is the franchise even that active right now? (Excuse an old otaku for being out of the loop.)
Even if this wasn't based on the anime, I would call it drek. The fighting looks tame, the acting is horrible, and the show seems to be a special effects showcase. It doesn't need to fail at representing Dragonball to fail. It can fail on it's own merit.
And, still... I'll probably see it. This one might just reach that elusive goal is being so bad it's fun to watch. Like Dead or Alive.
I like Dragonball but this isn't Dragonball, this is what happens when you give bad cosplayers green screens and wires to fly around on. I'm going to watch it and I'm hopeful it'll be a good kind of bad, but yeah.. Not likely.
