The History of Trunks takes place in an alternate future in which Goku dies of an unknown heart disease and the remaining Z-Fighters, with the exception of Gohan, are killed by Androids 17 and 18.

Thirteen years after Goku and the Z-Fighters die, the world lives in constant fear of the Androids, with Gohan being the only hero that could possibly destroy them. However, Trunks is now a teenager and his urge to help Gohan fight is at its peak and can no longer be ignored. With Gohan's help, Trunks trains to become a Super Saiyan in order to stand a chance against the Androids' massive power.
