Hybrid characters are often a mixture of different background that are normally thought to be in opposition. These are mostly seen as a mixture of humans with either aliens, spirits, or demons.

In Dragon Ball Z, King Kai taught Goku the powerful Kaio-ken technique. It allowed Goku to multiply his power by whatever amount for a brief period of time with sever consequences to his stamina.

The character has a chance of ending up with the protagonist. It means either the protagonist or the heroine(or maybe both) have feelings for the other.
