Dragon Ball GT

Dragon Ball GT is the only series in The Dragon Ball franchise that may be non-canon, as it has no manga and was not created by Akira Toriyama (aside from a few episodes).

Due to low ratings, Toei Animation decided to cancel Dragon Ball GT.

As for Akira Toriyama, he already quit after finishing the manga with the end of Z. He only offered advice and some character designs during the creation of Dragon Ball GT.

Super Saiyan 4

Goku gained new powers in this series that didn't appear in the original Dragon Ball manga, most of which came after attaining the Super Saiyan 4 transformation. Vegeta also attained the transformation, though without his tail he needed more concentrated blutz waves than those coming from the Moon, so he used a blutz wave machine to trigger the Great Ape transformation and then advance to Super Saiyan 4. Shortly after, Goku and Vegeta fused together to become Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta.
