"Hawkeye" Mihawk is the greatest swordsman in all of the world, and a member of the powerful Shichibukai. He is Zoro Roronoa's ultimate rival and the one he hopes to one day surpass.
Mihawk is more commonly known as Hawk Eye. He was formerly a member of the Whitebeard Pirates but now is one of the seven Shichibukai. He is regarded as the greatest swordsman in the world. Mihawk's first appearance of the manga (and the entire series, for that matter) was during Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat's battle for the Baratie Restaurant (The "Bistro of the Brine" in the manga) when Don Krieg attempted an invasion during Luffy's stay as chore boy.
Dracule Mihawk is an antagonist in the One Piece series that was created by Eiichiro Oda. The series first began serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump on August 4, 1997. He first appeared during the Baratie Arc that began in Volume 5.
His first appearance was in One Piece Volume 6 CH. 49 "The Storm", and his first anime appearance was in One Piece - Episode 23 "Protect Baratie! The Great Pirate, Red Foot Zeff!". His character in the Japanese was first voiced by Takeshi Aono, but after he passed away was replaced by Hirohiko Kakegawa from Episode 461 and on. The U.S. dub produced by FUNimation is performed by John Gremillion.
During the midst of the battle, one of Krieg's men saw a small ship floating towards them from out of a storm. They saw that it was none other than the feared Shichibukai Dracule Mihawk, the man they had woken from sleep during their stay at the Grand Line, and attempted to do away with him via their pistols. He simply deflected them, and Chef Zeff told the rest that it would be useless against a man like him. He appeared shortly after slicing Don Krieg's ship into shreds, all in one gruesome blow.
