Dopp Fighters are the main military aircraft of the Zeon. However they prove ineffective once the Federation introduced Mobile Suits to their forces.

Primarily used in the One Year War, Dopp Fighters were quickly outdated with the advent of mobile suit combat, but remain synonymous among the more well known units in the Gundam series. Dopp fighters serve in support roles during the One Year War, mainly as escorts but also saw action during the war when the Zeon forces of Garma Zabi and later M'Quve attempt to bag the White Base as a prize for Zeon. Thus, Dopp fighters continued to serve in the military long past their worth as a comparable adversary to any of the updated weapons.
