Dinobot

Origin

Dinobot was a Predacon recruited by Cryotek and Megatron to steal the Golden Disc, the theft was a success and the Predacons escaped Cybertron with the item aboard the Darksyde, but soon found themselves pursued by the Maximal starship Axalon through a rift in time-space where all involved crash landed on primitive Earth.

There Dinobot took the beast-mode of a Velociraptor to protect himself from raw energon. Dinobot angred at the turn of events of being stranded on a primitive world opposes Megatron, and challenges him for leadership, but is simply blasted by Scorponok for his treason.

Dinobot then seeks out the Maximals, asking to join the group as their new leader. But when Optimus Primal saves his life, the honor driven Dinobot sets his ambitions aside and follows the leadership of Primal.

Manga Dinobot

Most recently in the manga series, Dinobot's body was found by the Autobots and re-activated, at first Dinobot was confused and angry and attacked the Autobots, but soon he calmed down and chose to join them much as he did the Maximals before. Once at the Autobot base Dinobot is introduced to Grimlock, and the two become fast friends and sparring partners, though their "friendly" fights tend to trash Autobot HQ. Dinobot is also now considered to be the smartest of the Dinobots. Dinobot had been mysteriously buried next to Hot Shot and Jolt. Though Dinobot joined the Autobots, he did not take the Autobot symbol, but the symbol of his former Maximal comrades instead.
