Pinion and the others detect the whale squid underneath via radar. Ledo has Chamber engages the squids. In a flashback, Pinion and his brother take off in their Yunoboros. While Pinion stand guard, his brother head inside to get the treasure. When a whale squid head inside where Pinion's brother is, a whole pod of whale squid emerges from the room. Pinion's brother tells Pinion to get away when the nest of whale squid attacks him and Pinion. In the present, Pinion instructs Ledo to lure the whale squid from the nest. Ledo lures the whale squid and signals Pinion to drop the bombs that wipe out most of the whale squid. With the echolocation complete, Ledo and Chamber head into a massive facility where they confront the mother whale squid. After the whale squids wrap around Chamber, the mother squid bites Chamber.

Meanwhile, Melty struggles to peer through the fog while Flange's men wonder about Pinion's situation. Deep inside the facility, Ledo and Chamber find whale squid spawn. The two find a database from an ancient civilization. Ledo orders Chamber to release classified information. In the video, the men open the research facility. With the 5th ice age underway, there are people who protests against evolution. The man states that they have go into space. Then, war between the Continental Union and the Evolvers broke out. One of the men talk about how the whale squid can adapt to space. Ledo is shocked when he sees one of the men is fused with the whale squid.

After the video, Ledo questions who is the enemy. When a humanoid whale squid swims by, Chamber grabs the humanoid whale squid. Ledo tells Chamber to stop. It's too late when Chamber squishes it. Meanwhile on Gargantia Fleet, Bevel blows the flute while Amy looks out at sea with tears.
