Live-action film based on the anime/manga Death Note. Light Yagami discovers the Death Note, giving him the ability to kill those of his choosing by writing their name and thinking of them.
In the film, Light Yagami is a law student in college when he finds the Death Note. Light also has a girlfriend named Shiori Akino. Light uses the Death Note to kill criminals in the world. As the media becomes aware of the deaths, they dub the killer as Kira. Light's father begins working with the world famous, but mysterious L, to stop and catch Kira.
