Death Note is something I've avoided because of it being a somewhat culture classic for emo's *flame shield on!* but I watched Death Note's live action film a couple of hours ago (it was actually on film 4 :O ) and thought conceptually, it was a brilliant detective thriller. But it's anime brethren may of kicked chunks of what the live action movie was, even though that itself has alot of merit. The second movies showing tumorrow night and I've set it to record -- The question being, do I watch the Death Note series before or after learning the conclusion of this L character?
